Attucks’ 100-Year History In Film

A full house turned out Friday night (Feb. 8) to the Attucks Theatre for the debut showing of the new documentary “The Historic Attucks Theatre: The Apollo of the South.” The film was produced by the City of Norfolk and will be broadcast on WHRO-TV. WHRO Producer Lisa Godley moderated a panel discussion following the showing with Father Joseph Green, Denise Christian, Dr. Cassandra Newby-Alexander and Judge Jerrauld Jones.
Norfolk, in conjunction with the Attucks Centennial Commission named last summer, has scheduled a series of events, including concerts and other special events for 2019 which will be announced in the coming months.
