Local Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Chapters Celebrate 96th Founders’ Day

HAMPTON ROADS
On Sunday, November 11th, in observance of their 96th Founders’ Day, the Hampton Roads Chapters of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. worshipped together at Bethel AME Church, Hampton, VA, where Rev. Andre’ P. Jefferson, Sr. preached on “If” Psalms 124:1-8.
Soror Latrece Williams-McKnight presented “The Occasion” by highlighting Deuteronomy 6:12, “Remember” – Remember those who laid stones; Remember who we are everyday: ladies of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.”
Congratulations to Sorors Tracy D. Thornton (Norfolk Alumnae), Lisa Browne (Peninsula Alumnae), and Pamelia Small (Portsmouth Alumnae) on their recognitions as “Sigma Woman of the Year” by their respective chapters.
The Norfolk Alumnae Chapter also honored Soror Brenda Hughes Andrews as the first recipient of the chapter’s Brenda H. Andrews Community Service Award.
