Virginia Non-Profit To Host Financial Conference On August 11

Virginia Housing and Community Development Corporation (VHCDC) will hold its annual conference on accessing capital and credit for business owners. The day-long CapCon (Capital Conference) is planned for August 11 at the Newport News Marriott @ City Center.

James R Taylor III, VHCDC President , said he is expecting upwards of 600 attendees to be present to learn how to access capital and credit and secure myriad financing for their ventures. The annual event challenges, engages and encourages attendees to develop and execute financial plans for credit building, entrepreneurship, economic development, wealth building, and social investing.

Taylor said CapCon is formatted to inform individuals, families, and small business owners to improve their personal and business finances, build their small business, create wealth, and invest in their communities.

A powerful feature of CapCon is CapTalks, presented in the form of short, powerful talks (12 minutes or less) without commercials or sales pitches. CapTalk presenters “educate” the audience, imparting critical financial tools and resources they can use immediately.

Presenters featured at CapTalks will be available at CapShops for one-on-one consultation during throughout the day. Access to CapShops is included with General Admission. CapCon2018 is Saturday, August 11th at the Newport News Marriott @ City Center, Newport News, Virginia. The event starts at 10 a.m. VHCDC expects more than 600 guests.
