The City of Portsmouth hosted the 31st Annual Unity Gospelrama Celebration at Portside on the Water Stage this past weekend (Aug 5-6). Area residents enjoyed spiritual praise music from some of the top local and regional gospel artists, including Daryl Harris and the Original Vocal Aires, gospel violinist Eric Taylor, and the Word Singers. The concert was free and open to the public. The event, organized by Christine Davis, was sponsored by Helping Others Progress Successfully (HOPS), Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority, the City of Portsmouth, and the Virginia Children’s Chorus.
