Inspirational Message: Good News About Jesus Christ!

God has given us Scriptures to guide our thinking about the birth, life, ministry, death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ!  Let us continue to read the Bible, study with groups and seek God’s guidance in our spiritual growth.

Jesus let much advice about love for God, for others and for ourselves in order for us to experience life more abundantly.  After reading what Luke, a Gentile physician, wrote about Jesus, let us read Matthew 5:44 and compare it with Luke 6:27-36.  How does Jesus want our enemies treated?  Luke said to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, pray for those who mistreat you and to do to others as you would have them do to you!  Read these and more verses from the New Testament to learn how to follow Jesus.

Matthew and Luke emphasize what to expect when we love only those who love us in return.  Both Gospel writers admonish us to love our enemies and to pray for those who persecute us!

Matthew was writing to a Jewish audience.  Jesus was presented as King to the Jewish people who had waited for the Messiah who would save the people as Matthew promoted the authority an power of Jesus.  Luke, with a Greek background, provided information from eyewitnesses and servants  of the word.

Throughout His adult life, Jesus demonstrated the real meaning of love.  Why did Jesus say, “a new commandment I give you, that you also love one another”?  The newness of Jesus’ instruction was His declaration ‘as I have l loved you.”  Jesus with all His strength, demonstrated the real meaning of love!  We are to follow the examples of Christ to have the same love for others as He has shown us.

The good news about Jesus Christ include His tender, sympathetic, considerate and compassionate life.  Let our hearts be touched and molded by His divine principle of love which makes us Christians.  How did Jesus live?  How did He look at people?  In spite of being constantly under Satan’s fiercest attacks, Jesus lived an unselfish life of loving service to others day by day.  His priority was always centered on other people, not on Himself!  Fron childhood to the cross, He showed a constant tender disposition to minister to

Others.  He did not come to be served, but o serve (Matthew 20:28)!  For a better world, let us continue seeking ways to live like Christ
