NORFOLK

     Incumbent Norfolk city councilwoman Angela Williams squared off against challenger Sonya L. Smith in a Super ward 7 candidates forum sponsored by the Norfolk NAACP on Monday (April 9) at the Olde Huntersville Community Center.  Phillip Hawkins, Jr., served as moderator of the forum as an audience of 48 listened attentively and  submitted questions on note cards for the candidates to answer.  The candidates addressed a wide-variety of issues important to Norfolk residents from education and the construction of a new senior center to the revitalization of Waterside and the construction of an Amtrack maintenance facility in the community.
