Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in TowneBank Fountain Park on Friday, May 4, 2012. Come out to enjoy great food, great beverages, and great music.
The Mexican holiday Cinco de Mayo is actually on May 5th, but the party begins a day early in Downtown Norfolk along the Elizabeth River! Feast on authentic foods served up at Omar’s Fountain Café! Wash it all down with themed specialty adult drinks, including margaritas and frosty beverages, that will be available for purchase.  Guests will enjoy the spirit of Cinco De Mayo all night long.

Returning this year to headline the evening’s festivities is the JESSE CHONG BAND! A local favorite and much sought after band in the Hampton Roads area, the 4 piece band covers a range of genres to include reggae, funk, bluegrass, and the blues. Their eclectic sound draws comparisons to artists such as Ben Harper, Dave Matthews, John Mayer, and Keller Williams. Prepare to sing and dance the night away as the Jesse Chong Band keeps everyone wanting more.

A portion of the beverage sales will benefit the Little Creek Lions Club. Known for working to end preventable blindness, Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities. These projects range from cleaning up local parks to providing supplies to victims of natural disasters. By conducting service projects and raising funds, The Lions Club strive to help those in need – wherever the need exists: locally or throughout the world community.
