The Rhythm Project All Stars are performing with the Governor’s School Dance Department and African Drumming Ensemble on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Harrison Opera House in Norfolk.  Rhythm Live! is a fully staged production outlining the evolution of Caribbean steelpan and Calypso music.

This colorful and rhythmically rich production is designed to captivate all ages with its high energy choreography and scintillating music. For the students, this performance represents the culmination of two months of hard work and dedication in their studies with the Rhythm Project, a world percussion and dance ensemble that has earned international acclaim for their traditional accuracy and high-energy performances. This presentation of Caribbean Steelpan music, West African drumming, and dance by young artists from throughout Hampton Roads exemplifies the work of both the students and the instructors involved in the Rhythm Project.

Area choreographers include Todd Rosenlieb and music is led by Rhythm Project Director Sophia Subero and Associate Director Dave Longfellow.
